ProFarms Social Investment Project
Implemented between 2021 and 2023, the ProFarms social investment initiative made a significant difference in the lives of 280 families across 20 villages in the Ujar, Agdash, and Yevlakh districts of Azerbaijan. Under the initiative, aspiring beekeepers received a total of 1,000 beehives, with each beneficiary provided with 10 hives, along with modern beekeeping tools and equipment. In addition, 100 families received greenhouses and tree seedlings, while 80 families were supplied with 30,000 fruit trees, helping to build a more sustainable and prosperous future for their communities. To ensure the long-term success of the beneficiaries, a series of training sessions and seminars were organized, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills. The results have been highly positive, with participating families becoming self-sufficient in a variety of products, including fresh vegetables, fruit, and honey produced through the project.
Translation of Academic Textbooks into Azerbaijani
To improve access to modern scientific literature in the Azerbaijani language, ten academic textbooks widely used at leading universities around the world were translated into Azerbaijani: Applied Econometrics, Economic Development, Advanced Macroeconomics, International Political Economy, Intermediate Microeconomics with Calculus: A Modern Approach, Karp’s Cell and Molecular Biology, Organic Chemistry, Introduction to Statistical Quality Control, Chemical Engineering Design, and Introduction to Biotechnology. The translation and editorial work was carried out by professors and academic staff from Azerbaijan’s higher education institutions, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the translated texts. The project covered all stages of the publication process, including translation, scientific and literary editing, proofreading, and design. Each translated textbook was printed in 200 copies and donated to higher education institutions across the country.
Development Economics Academy
The project aims to engage government officials, researchers, and students in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) MicroMasters Program in Data, Economics, and Development Policy. Its primary objective is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of professionals responsible for analyzing economic and social indicators, as well as those involved in the development, implementation, and monitoring of legislation and development programs.
Implemented in partnership with the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and Khazar University, the project has successfully completed two phases, with a total of 70 participants.
Innovative Development of Mingachevir State University
The project’s main objective was to strengthen the institutional capacity of Mingachevir State University through the establishment of a Project Management Office (PMO). To improve organizational effectiveness, the newly established office adopted the Results-Based Management (RBM) approach. To build staff capacity in RBM, an intensive theoretical and practical training program was delivered to 14 university employees. As part of the project, a comprehensive assessment of the university’s current situation and institutional needs was also conducted with the active participation of the university leadership, faculties, and other structural units. Based on the findings, a detailed project proposal was developed to support the establishment and development of an English-language Faculty of Information Technology.
Certification in Data Analytics and Cybersecurity
Under the project, approximately 450 young people earned internationally recognized professional certifications in Data Analytics (Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate) and Cybersecurity (IBM Cybersecurity Analyst Professional Certificate). As a result of the initiative, many graduates achieved significant career advancement and gained access to better employment opportunities. In addition, a number of participants chose to continue their higher education, specializing in data analytics and cybersecurity.
IELTS Program for SABAH Students
Throughout the project, 372 master’s students from the SABAH Groups, representing universities across Azerbaijan, completed a comprehensive 150-hour IELTS preparation program. Another key objective of the initiative was to enhance the quality of teaching by providing professional development opportunities for faculty members.
As a result, 52 participants achieved high scores in the IELTS examination. Furthermore, 17 faculty members demonstrated significant improvements in their teaching skills and pedagogical competencies.
