Eldar Gaziyev was born on 10 August 1976 in Sumgait, Azerbaijan.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) in Ankara, Türkiye, between 1994 and 2000. He subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering Economics from the Faculty of Economics of Sumgait State University between 2000 and 2002.
Between 2001 and 2008, he held various positions in Operations Development, Projects, and Logistics with bp Azerbaijan. For bp’s offshore operations in Azerbaijan, he served as Offshore HSE Manager between 2008 and 2010 and as Logistics and Infrastructure Manager from 2010 to 2013.
Between 2012 and 2014, he completed bp’s Operations Leadership Development Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
From 2013 to 2020, he served as Area Operations Manager for Türkiye Oil Export Pipelines within bp’s onshore operations in Türkiye. Between 2021 and 2026, he was Area Operations Manager for Export Pipelines across bp’s onshore operations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye.
In July 2026, he was appointed Chief Technical Officer of SOCAR Midstream Operations LLC, with responsibility for operations across Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye.
