Brief Job Overview
The Senior Operations Assurance Specialist is responsible for providing operational expertise for pipelines, pump stations, marine terminal operations, and related projects, including maintenance, inspection, and overhaul activities. Key duties include proactively interacting with principal business/operational partners, other disciplines, teams, sub-functions, and contractors to systematically resolve issues; applying operational judgment to address operational problems; and driving operational excellence and improvement through integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, operational efficiency, defect remediation, obsolescence management, Management of Change, Technical Queries and standardization.

Roles and responsibilities
- Contributes to the development of operational plans aimed at implementing broader strategies and provides technical expertise as needed to ensure operational matters are addressed.
- Monitor and report on issues affecting operational efficiency, HSE integrity, and business continuity; manage potential conflicts proactively.
- Leads the working relationships between BTC operations team and principal business/operational partners.
- Lead the process for resolving technical queries, MOCs (Management of Change) related issues, Process Upset reports, defect remediations, obsolescence related issues.
- Coordinate with engineering, integrity, legal, commercial, and external affairs teams and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues and pipeline crossing related issues.
- Undertake and participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance and improvement; and to ensure that recommendations arising from these audits or reviews are addressed and closed out.
- Provide Operational input for Projects to be executed along the pipeline.
- Define, monitor, and act upon performance KPIs, performance data and lessons learned to improve operations planning and execution.
- Contribute BTC Türkiye Operations budget management, ensuring alignment with business priorities and cost control. Improve cost efficiency by eliminating waste and ensuring value for spending.
- Assist Head of Operation for daily activities and deputize him as required.
- Coach and mentor operational personnel.
- Develop succession capability plans within the operations.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical or related discipline) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas, energy operations or construction.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline and marine terminal operations, process safety, integrity management, HSE practices, assurance principles, regulatory frameworks and operational governance standards.
- Skilled in hazard evaluation, incident investigation and emergency response.
- Familiarity with Management of Change (MoC), Control of Work and operational audits.
- Experience with audits, inspections and process improvement initiatives.
- Has a detailed understanding of ‘how work gets done’ at a brownfield site. Deep technical understanding of facility system design, equipment, installation and commissioning areas.
- Business insight, encompassing an understanding of budgetary management, financial decision making and contract management.
- A leader and integrator that is inclusive and respectful and capable of building strong relationships, influencing and collaborating with others; understanding the ‘big picture’ and driving focus on what matters.
- Previous experience working in situations requiring self-motivation, ability to set goals and objectives, work unsupervised and meet deadlines.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team
- Willingness and availability to travel
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing assurance programs.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in oil & gas, energy operations, pipeline, or marine terminal environments, including senior operational leadership roles.
- Capability to mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
