Farhan Aliyev was born on 5 April 1975 in Baku, Azerbaijan .
From 1991 to 1996, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Law and International Relations from Baku State University. He later completed an MBA with distinction at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics between 2004 and 2006.
From 1995 to 2008, he worked in procurement, logistics, and marketing for various local and international companies.
Between 2008 and 2016, he held a range of positions, including managerial roles, at bp Azerbaijan. During this period, he contributed to major energy projects such as the Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli oil field, the Shah Deniz gas project, the Sangachal Terminal, and the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan, Baku–Supsa, and South Caucasus Pipeline export pipeline systems. His responsibilities included strategic planning of production materials, materials management, procurement, and supply chain management.
From 2016 to 2023, he served as Deputy Head of the Capital Construction and Procurement Department under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Since January 2024, he has been serving as the Executive Director of SOCAR Midstream Operations LLC.
