During the period of September 21-22, 2017 SOCAR Midstream Operations Company (SMO) Management, HSE and Technical Specialists visited the Gas Metering Site Area 81 and Compressor Station CSG2 site in Georgia of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion Project. Day one of the program SMO representatives visited Area 81 and noted that with the exception of some minor materials to be installed the facilities are construction complete and ready for hot commissioning. Area 81 is scheduled to commence first gas supply to TANAP Pipeline "Phase 0" (2 billion cubic meter gas per year) circa 31 December 2017.
On September 22, 2017 SMO representatives visited the Compressor Station CSG2 Area 77 to familiarise themselves with construction progress.Construction and installation works on the Compressor Station is currently at 77%, and the standard of workmanship was noted to be high.A "Hot-Tap" to connect Compressor Station CSG2 Area 77 to the SCP pipeline is planned for 2018. The Compressor Station CSG 2 is expected to be ready to commence Phase 1 gas delivery of 6 billion cubic meter gas per year into the TANAP pipeline system around 31st December 2018.
